Boiling Crawfish is a beloved Louisiana event. It’s a time for family and friends to gather and spend time with each other. There are a few ways to go about doing a crawfish boil and we are going to show you one of the best methods for succulent crawfish:
Rinse the crawfish with plain water.
Fill a pot halfway up with water. Use a pot that will comfortably hold the amount of crawfish you are boiling (usually a 5 gallon pot).
Once the water is boiling, dump in cajun seasoning relative to the amount of crawfish you have.
Add potato, carrots, celery, onions and garlic. Wait for the potatoes to get soft, then add corn and mushrooms.
Take the Vegetables out of the pot with a strainer.
Add more Cajun spice and lemon to the boiling water and add the crawfish.
Let the crawfish boil for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat and dump ice into the pot. This will cause the crawfish to sink to the bottom and soak in the spices at the bottom of the pot.
Cover an outdoor table with newspaper and dump the crawfish on the table.
Sprinkle Cajun spices over your crawfish and enjoy with family!
